The F.A.E (Festival of Architecture in Spanish) celebrated its second consecutive year at the Centro Cultural España. The MMATT office was one of the guests, along with other architects with recognized international experience.
Assisting in this way in technological innovation workshops, Workshop events and Masterclass programs, these Masterclasses were taught by different eminent figures in the area of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Design and Urbanism; such professionals as Enrique Norten and Tatiana Bilbao.
ENRIQUE NORTEN.
He was born in Mexico City (1954), trained as an architect at the Universidad Iberoamericana (1978) and obtained a master's degree in architecture at Cornell University (1980). He founded TEN Arquitectos in Mexico D.F. (1986) and opens a second office in New York (2001).
The Institute of Mexicans Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs awarded him the recognition of Distinguished Mexican for his extensive career as an architect (2008). He recently received the Fine Arts Medal for Architecture from the National Institute of Fine Arts in CD.MX.
With more than 330 projects, 60 built works, and many more in progress, TEN Arquitectos has participated in projects of various scales and typologies, single-family houses, residential, cultural and institutional buildings, as well as landscape design and urban plans.
TATIANA BILBAO.
She was born in Mexico City (1972), trained as an architect at the Universidad Iberoamericana (1996), and worked as an Advisor in the Department of Urban Development and Housing of the Government of the Federal District. (1998). She founded the company Tatiana Bilbao S.C. (2004), she entered as a professor of Design in the Architecture and Urbanism career at the Universidad Iberoamericana (2005)
The first project carried out was the Exhibition Hall in Jinhua, a project headed and coordinated by the Chinese artist-architect Ai Weiwei, who brought together a team of young architects from different countries to develop a large park divided into pavilions and located on the shore of the Yiwu River, near Shanghai. Bilbao was commissioned to design the room mentioned above, also known as "Exhibition Space"
Bilbao directed during 2017, in collaboration with Gonzalo Ortega, the exhibition Perspectives: Tatiana Bilbao Estudio, organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art (MARCO) from the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, where his projects produced in the period from 2004 to 2017 were presented.
