In mid-2022, La Salle University on the Nezahualcóyotl campus asked us for a remodeling program for most of its facilities to deal with an increase and remodeling of its spaces for both students and educational staff in the short and long term
In this precise case; the remodeling of one of its cafeterias was designed and executed
Maintaining the same original design of its infrastructure so as not to change too much with the rest of its buildings, but optimizing the spaces, generating wider and more comfortable accesses and above all; this cafeteria was expanded using outdoor space to have an outdoor eating area
Always using simple materials and shapes to optimize costs and time, a light roof with perimeter metal supports was installed that did not break with the original scheme of the university. In turn, and due to the design of the time, there were hidden structural elements that limited the space and the continuity of the view to the interior of the cafeteria, which in this case we decided to eliminate so that the final result is these apparent diagonal beams that generate a more spacious space. clean and modern to face a generational change of the university
